How have people mispronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?
Submitted by Lorie.
OMG. THIS QUESTION WAS MADE TO BE ANSWERED BY ME.
My name is Tamisa, pronounced Ta-mee-sa. Here are the following ways it has been pronounced:
Ta-mee-sha. The most popular form of butchering my name, most commonly experienced with substitute teachers. HelLO, where did you get the extra H from?? I don't have invisible letters in my name!!
Tam-eh-sa, with the first syllable really long and the last two sped up. Once again most commonly experienced with substitute teachers, but I can sort of understand this one. At least they don't add an extra invisible letter.
Teresa. Tamika. Tanisa. Tanisha. Now this is just people who can't read properly.
Lousy day. Started out pretty well, but ended up spiraling down after 10. Became feeling rather lousy for disappointing my piano teacher so much.
Also testing this cross posting from Vox to LJ thing...
So I was totally having this rad dream about something, but I had to wake up because I had an appointment to be somewhere early this morning. I don't even remember what it was about; the only thing I do remember is that I was totally digging what was going on. I think I vaguely remember me screwing up in some Broadway show that I was in (LOL, right because I do theatre), me running out, and being comforted by someone? Knowing me, it probably had something to do with love or whatever. I'm a sap. :P
I went out just a while ago to randomly look at dresses at David Bridal with Tiffany and Amanda while waiting for a certain tapioca café thing to open up. Ooh, man that was fun. I don't necessarily like wearing dresses, but man do I love to shop for them.
And omg, I just received two invites in my er, invite box. I was considering keeping one for myself but much to my DISMAY Seifer and Almasy ARE ALREADY TAKEN. :SDHldjaf;sd! I would have no idea what to do with a second Vox account, but now I'm sorely tempted to get 'hyperion' while it's still available. Should I or should I not? Is that incredibly selfish of me?
Perhaps photos later if I can bring myself to take some. I have horrid picture skills, anyways.
Aha, I'm not neglecting LJ, I swear! I'll update this weekend with pictures after my friend's birthday party :P
So I've never actually taken pictures of my dogs before, so I thought it would be fun. Nevermind that my dogs don't like to sit still for any given three seconds of their lives.
Duchess is our second German Shepard that we've had. The first one was a male named "Mayo" (yes, as in mayonnaise. Ask my dad, he named him) and we ended up not keeping him because of time constraints. That and the fact that I was a wee little elementary schooler with this huge 100 pound dog in the house. I loved that dog though; he was ultra cool, and he actually stayed in the house. But as for Duchess, I believe we got her around the end of fifth grade or the beginning of middle school. We actually had a big debate about what we should name her - I believe my mom wanted something regal sounding and my sister and I wanted some kid name. I don't know. She's an awesome Bleu German Shepard, which means that her skin's actually blue. I would've taken a picture of that, but she never ever ever calms down, even though she's six or seven years old now. She's my favorite dog. I like big dogs :D
This little idiot's Duke. (Hah, like that? Matching names.) And he really is an idiot, but you learn to love him all the same. This little bugger loves to escape through this hole in the fence that my family hasn't found yet and go roaming throughout the neighborhood. (He does it so often he now knows his way home, lol.) He also likes to crowd cars when they come up our driveway and puts himself in danger by circling the car without moving away. Shyeahh. Duke actually started out a stray we think, because when my mom was picking up my sister from elementary school, he was crossing the street and had no collar or identification. We ended up posting up "found" posters in places, but no one claimed him so we kept him. We suspect he's a mix between a chihuahua and a daschund, because he looks like a really long chihuahua :P
Despite their coordinating names, they don't get along most of the
time. Duchess is just like one big kid who loves to play with anything
and everything, and Duke is a hot-tempered little dog. When we first
brought Duke home to the house, Duchess was intensely curious with him
and would make attempts to play with him, but he's a butt and would
bark and growl at her. He's also very territorial, so he'll get very
jealous if one of us gives Duchess too much attention (which I like to
do just to spite him, because it's fun messing with his little head
:P).
Yeah, and I didn't take many pictures because it was hot and humid outside. But I now leave you with a picture of Duchess!
Oh wait. So I was totally uploading pictures from when my family and I went back to Thailand last summer and there was this picture where I was totally flabbergasted at my hair. Dfasdfasdfal;k. Why does my hair suck so much now?? It requires 45 minutes of straightening! Whatthehecccck.
