What does your name mean and why did your parents choose it for you?
Submitted by mommy2two.
"Tamisa" means moon in the Thai language. Apparently when I was born I was a really pale baby with a round face. (Now, I'm tanner and have an oval face...weirddd.) My nickname "Mook[ie]" means pearl...see the similarities? :)
I remember the days when people on my Livejournal friends list were registering these babies like crazy. And now only a handful of them update, including me :(
KEEPING SEVERAL JOURNALS IS SO HARD. And so hard to let go, especially if they have an awesome name. Like renegade :3
What other names did your parents consider for you?
March. I was born in the month of March, and my mom loves Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (which I'm still trying to figure out...I remember trying to read all however many hundred pages of that book and not being able to snooze).
I am SO glad she ended up not choosing that name.
Anyways, I've mostly been bumming around watching Scrubs and listening to music all day long. Oh, and I can't forget playing Solitaire/Spider Solitaire. (I'm improving!) I've been listening to a lot of Joshua Radin lately, and I have to give mad props to his latest album. A+++ for anyone who likes easy listening, acoustic music. I've also been playing Damien Rice's 9 Crimes on loop, thanks to Desiree. Pretty song, but chillingly haunting. (Is chillingly a word?!)
This was my attempt at an actual entry here on Vox. Did I pass?
What is the one saying that your parents said to you that you absolutely hate?

"You have too much fun."
Lawl. Whatevs, parents, if you call going out once a month too much fun!
I seriously cannot wait until college so I don't have to hear that for a year :)
I'm getting lazy in updating this thing @__@
I just don't fucking get it.
And yeah, I can't believe how many moods I've been through this year, and it's only the first half. This is the year of serious mood swings....seriously the year I've been most depressed, the year I've been the happiest, and the year where I've just gotten sicker of a whole lot of things. It's like a never-ending cycle, and I don't even know if I can take the low parts anymore.
What is one of your favorite poems?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
I love E.E. Cummings :)
How have people mispronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?
Submitted by Lorie.
OMG. THIS QUESTION WAS MADE TO BE ANSWERED BY ME.
My name is Tamisa, pronounced Ta-mee-sa. Here are the following ways it has been pronounced:
Ta-mee-sha. The most popular form of butchering my name, most commonly experienced with substitute teachers. HelLO, where did you get the extra H from?? I don't have invisible letters in my name!!
Tam-eh-sa, with the first syllable really long and the last two sped up. Once again most commonly experienced with substitute teachers, but I can sort of understand this one. At least they don't add an extra invisible letter.
Teresa. Tamika. Tanisa. Tanisha. Now this is just people who can't read properly.
Lousy day. Started out pretty well, but ended up spiraling down after 10. Became feeling rather lousy for disappointing my piano teacher so much.
Also testing this cross posting from Vox to LJ thing...
To make up for that fact: audio to listen to! (Classical music, but hey. It's cool.)
I also think I have too many journals. I have like five livejournals, only two of which I am really using...one of the other three is defunct (but I've wanted to get into roleplay...if I ever do, it'll be the journal I use for Seifer RP), and the other two I just like because the names are cool. Oh wait. And then there's my old LJ that I'm saving for a rename and then moving back if I feel like it. I also have this (which I use periodically), a lostjournal (which I also use periodically), a tabulas journal (defunct), and I most recently got a livejourbal (two entries?). I NEED SOMETHING TO HELP ME WITH MY JOURNAL ADDICTION. I don't know why I need that many. It's especially hard to get over if the journal service is relatively new/unknown and lots of cool usernames are available D:
I also finally changed the skin of this Vox journal of mine. I love the panda skin - after all, pandas are the best animal ever! - but I'm also growing fond of this one. Plus it's green. Everyone knows that green = win.
...I had to wait so long because I just can't buy the hardcover version. All my other Wheel of Time books are paperback, so it has to match. It's the reason why my Harry Potter collection bothers me - every book is hardcover except for the first one. I'm going to need to buy the hardcover HP and the Philosopher's Stone really soon!
What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?

My shadow hahahaha. I do not lie. There are quite embarrassing family videos featuring me, crying because I can't figure out what the scary black thing (that was following me everywhere!) was. :D
What's on your Top 5 video games list?

What's the worst pickup line you've ever heard?
Submitted by ShellEy.
I actually really really love cheesy pick up lines. I also love the really nerdy ones. Aka:
I wish I were your derivative so I could be tangent to your curves.
I wish I were your integral so I could find the area under your curves.
If you were sin^2x and I were cos^2x, together we'd be one.
Are you the square root of 2? Because you're making me irrational!
But I really hate Calculus. And then there's just non nerdy ones. Aka:
If you were a booger, I'd pick you!
Baby, did you fart? Because you blew me away!
If you were a library book, I would totally check you out.
